Dr. Buchanan’s Retirement Message

Dear Valued Patients,

It is with a mixture of pride and bittersweet emotions that Delta Vista Optometry announces the retirement of Dr. Carol Buchanan. Dr. Buchanan opened the doors of this optometry practice in 1987, and through the years developed it into a cutting edge eyecare practice offering the latest technology and a caring staff.

The practice grew as the community grew, which brought Dr. Ashley Darnell-Sakata to join the practice in 2016, In 2019, Dr. Buchanan expanded the practice, more than doubling the space in order to meet the eyecare needs of Brentwood and surrounding communities. Now with her retirement, Dr. Darnell-Sakata has taken over the reins of Delta Vista Optometry along with her husband Dr. Scott Sakata.

As Dr. Buchanan prepares for a well-earned retirement, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for her decades of service, and for the countless ways she has enriched the practice and touched the lives of so many. While she will be greatly missed by her patients and colleagues, we are excited for her as she embarks on this next chapter filled with new adventures and cherished time with family. She wants to express that she will especially miss the wonderful people she has been privileged to serve over the years.
